What networking groups do you attend and support?
As a motivated entrepreneur I actively network with a group called EMS (Entrepreneur Mentor Society) in which I serve as the Social Media Director. I will share my most recent experience in which SocialSkoop learned the value of networking from EMS, Skytypers, and the Far East Movement.
This past Saturday I attended EMS (notes here) but I had an appointment with a new client (to be announced soon – give you a hint: she’s very sweet) so I left early. My client that I had brought to EMS that very same day stayed to mingle and and talk to the guest speaker, Carl Choi. Short story: Carl Choi liked what my client Skytypers was doing and hired them on the spot to fly the very next day over Coachella and SocialSkoop got to be part of it all.
Plan C Agency (Carl’s Company) created a new remix with their artist Far East Movement just for Coachella folk within 24 hours and posted it to their website for distribution by what? By plane.
Here are the messages that were dropped over Coachella at 4pm on Sunday by Skytypers.
“FAREASTMOVEMENT.COM”
“FREE MUSIC TXT MP3 TO 59925”
“GIRLS ON THE DANCE FLOOR”
“FREE MUSIC TXT MP3 TO 59925”
“FAREASTMOVEMENT.COM”
SocialSkoop was able to contact people at Coachella through Twitter and use personal contacts to spread the word to look up at that particular time. We asked people to post their pictures and sure enough they did.
Thanks to EMS, Carl Choi, and Skytypers – SocialSkoop was able to participate in its first ever social media/aerial experiment. We are proud to have been a part of such a fun marketing movement. I also happen to love that song- GIRLS ON THE DANCE FLOOR!!! (which you can still download for free here).
YOUR TURN: What do you want to write in the sky? Skytypers will be flying over the Red Bull Air Races in San Diego and the US Open of Surf in Huntington Beach next. Let us know what you wan to see in the sky message @SKYTYPERS on twitter and if we get enough messages we’ll host a vote to see what gets written in the sky.
SHARE: What networking groups do you attend and support? Leave a comment and let others know so they too can experience to value of networking.
